Bruce Davis was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Lloyd and Esther (Glover) Davis, and spent most of his childhood in Oklahoma. However, his family briefly relocated to Los Angeles, California, in search of better employment opportunities.
Following his high school graduation, Davis made the brave decision to enlist in the United States Navy, where he served from 1983 to 1987. During his time in the Navy, he was stationed in the San Francisco Bay area aboard the prestigious Aircraft Carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65). After completing his military service, Davis received an honorable discharge and returned to Oklahoma City, where he was accepted into the Oklahoma City Police Department's Police Academy in September 1987.
As a dedicated public servant, Davis has spent 27 years serving the Oklahoma City Police Department, rising through the ranks to achieve the prestigious title of Police Lieutenant. In addition to his law enforcement career, Davis has also pursued his passion for the arts, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. He has also honed his acting skills, studying film, advanced camera techniques, and the Meisner Technique at the Actors Factory in Norman, Oklahoma.
Davis's impressive acting career in Musical Theater began in 2004, when he was cast in the role of Judas Biggs in the new musical Soul on Fire. He has since performed the role in numerous theaters across the country, including the 14th Street Playhouse (Woodruff Arts Center) in Atlanta, Georgia; the National Black Theater Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and the Off-Broadway performance at the June Havoc Theater in New York.
