Brian To, a graduate of the UCLA Film/TV school, has been a multifaceted professional in the entertainment industry since 1990. His career began as a photographer, working alongside renowned photographers such as Greg Gorman, David LaChapelle, Douglas Kirkland, and Steven Meisel.
To's early work included photographing Antonio Sabato Jr. for his book "No Excuse - Workout for Life," as well as contributing to numerous magazine covers and fashion editorials. He has also shot advertising campaigns for various brands, including Pure Beauty, Johnson & Johnson, Walgreens, and The WB and CW shows.
As a member of the Cinematographer's Guild Local 600, Brian To has worked on still photography for several films, including "Lovewrecked," "Red Riding Hood," and "It's My Party." He has also shot posters and stills for independent films, such as "GirlPlay" and "Out at the Wedding."
In addition to his work in film and photography, Brian To has directed several projects, including his first film "Audit," which premiered at the IFP West / L.A. Film Festival and won several awards. He has also directed public service announcements and educational documentaries, including "Children of Incarcerated Parents" and "The Virtual Sex Project."
As an artist, Brian To has exhibited his photography in solo and group shows. Throughout his career, he has worked with a wide range of clients and collaborators, including directors Bryan Singer and John Schlesinger, and actors such as Faye Dunaway, Vivica A. Fox, and Sally Kirkland.
