Independent Italian filmmaker Brando Quilici has enjoyed a prolific career spanning over two decades, during which he has worked on numerous specials for prominent American networks such as the National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, PBS, and European networks including Channel 4, ZDF, France 5, and Rai.
Throughout his illustrious career, Brando has garnered a multitude of accolades, including prizes at the Jackson Hole Festival, the Antibes 1991 Television Festival Mondial De L'image Sous-Marine, and the FilmFestival Internazionale Montagna Esplorazione Avventura Città di Trento.
In 2012 and 2013, Brando collaborated closely with Academy Award-winning producer Jake Ebert to produce the family action-adventure feature film 'The Journey Home', set amidst the breathtaking ice fields of the Canadian Arctic.
Directed by renowned filmmaker Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies) and Brando Quilici, the film boasts an impressive cast, including Dakota Goyo (Real Steel),Goran Visnjic ("ER"),and Bridget Moynahan ("Blue Bloods"). Written by the Academy Award-winning Hugh Hudson, the film is now available on all major US Digital Accounts and DVDs, and has been distributed theatrically in over 35 countries worldwide.
Brando's most recent and ambitious project involved spending three years filming throughout the Arctic to produce and direct a 13-part series 'The Arctic' for Discovery Channel.
Inspired by his experiences filming in the Himalayas, Brando went on to produce the movie 'The Tiger's Nest', written by Hugh Hudson and Rupert Thomson. The Himalayas series was produced by Discovery Channel and shot by award-winning cameraman Doug Allan, with music composed by the acclaimed Philip Glass.
