Brady Hood is a talented Writer-Director with a passion for crafting commercially accessible stories that also make a social commentary. His impressive career has been marked by numerous accolades, including being featured as a 'Screen International Star of Tomorrow'.
Recently, Brady directed two episodes of the popular Netflix series "Top Boy", which was created by Ronan Bennett and produced by Cowboy Films. The show boasts an impressive cast, including Ashley Walters, Kane Robinson, and a host of new UK talent, as well as Mercury Prize 2019 nominees Simbi "Little Simz" Ajikawo and David "Dave" Omoregie.
Before his work on "Top Boy", Brady worked as an assistant to renowned film directors such as Joe Wright, Lone Scherfig, and Otto Bathurst. He then went on to be accepted onto the prestigious MA Directing Fiction course at The National Film & Television School, where he graduated with a film that would go on to win numerous awards worldwide.
Brady's graduation film, "Sweet Maddie Stone", won the "Short Film of the Year" award at the Critics' Circle Film Awards and the "Brief Grand Prix" at the Bristol Encounters Film Festival, among other accolades. His other short films have been showcased at numerous festivals around the world, including Palm Springs, Encounters, and Flickerfest.
In addition to his work in television and film, Brady has also made a name for himself in the world of commercials. His short-form work won the "Best Director" award at the Kodak/Nahemi Student Commercial Awards and was nominated for "Best Student Commercial" at the British Arrows Craft Awards 2016.
Brady's feature film debut, an adaptation of his short film "Sweet Maddie Stone", is currently in development with Shoebox Films and Creative England. He is also working on his second feature film, as well as two television dramas, "Prideland" and "Twockers", which have both been optioned and are now in development.
