Brad Kimmel is a renowned television producer and executive with a remarkable 27-year career in both public and commercial television. Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, he spent most of his childhood in suburban Chicago, where he developed a passion for sports and cars, thanks to his grandfather's influence in the automotive industry.
As a teenager, Brad's family relocated to Princeton, Kentucky, where he graduated from Caldwell County High School in 1979. He then pursued his higher education at Murray State University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in radio and television arts in 1983.
Following his graduation, Brad began his professional journey as a director at a small television station in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Over the next decade, he worked at various television stations and video production companies in Michigan and Indiana, honing his skills and building a strong foundation in the industry.
In 1994, Brad took the bold step of founding Bradley David Productions, which would become a hub for innovative programming on national cable networks such as TNN, Spike, and Speed Channel. His most notable creation, My Classic Car, is now in its 15th season and has become the most consistently profitable automotive lifestyle program on cable television.
Kimmel's impressive portfolio also includes the groundbreaking comedy series Texas Hardtails, which premiered on SPEED Channel in 2005. This pioneering show was the first American television series to combine a real-life business with scripted comedy, showcasing Brad's remarkable ability to produce high-quality content on a modest budget.
In addition to his work in television, Brad has also ventured into film, writing, producing, and directing the independent film NOVEM, which won numerous awards on the film festival circuit and was released theatrically in the U.S. and Japan. The film continues to be a favorite on national cable in Canada.
Brad's extensive credits also include two documentaries produced for public television: On Bended Knees, which tells the story of the Night Riders, and Crazy Nate and his Wireless Telephone, which explores the life of Nathan B. Stubblefield.
In 2010, Brad sold Bradley David Productions to his business partner and established Brad Kimmel Media, a production company focused on creating quality entertainment programming for cable networks and producing a series of film projects.
Today, Brad resides in Evansville, Indiana, with his wife Mary, and they have five children and six grandchildren.
