Boris Paval Conen is a renowned filmmaker who gained recognition in 1993 with the Tuschinski Award for his graduation film "Horror Vacui". His subsequent projects include the controversial feature "Temmink, the ultimate fight" and the acclaimed television series "The 9 days of the vulture", which won a Golden Calf award.
Conen's short film "Dilemma" and dance film "Car Men", created in collaboration with celebrated choreographer Jiri Kylian, have garnered numerous international accolades, including the prestigious Prix d'Italia. In 2012, his seven-part television series "The secrets of Barslet" received three Golden Calf nominations, and in 2013, his telefilm "Exit" won the Golden Calf for Best TV Drama.
"Exit" is a thought-provoking film based on a true story of an deportation of asylum seekers that spiralled out of control. Since then, Conen has written and directed two short films for the series "Devilish Dilemma's" and two telefilms, including the 2016 telefilm "Camp Holland", which explores the moral dilemmas faced by young Dutch soldiers in Afghanistan during the war.
