David Hutto, also known as Boondox, is a rapper from Covington, Georgia, who gained popularity as a representative of the horrorcore, country rap, and rap-rock styles. Born in Richmond County, Georgia, Hutto grew up in Covington, Georgia. He was not popular at his school, often got into fights, and experimented with drug use. Hutto's musical influences included heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Sepultura, and he played bass guitar in several local metal bands before pursuing a solo career as a rapper under the name "Turncoat Dirty".
Hutto's career took off when he caught the attention of Insane Clown Posse while selling his cassettes at one of their concerts. He was signed to Psychopathic Records, becoming the first Southern hip hop performer on the label. Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler helped Hutto create the character Boondox, which took six months to fully develop.
Boondox released his debut album, The Harvest, in 2006, followed by two singles, "They Pray With Snakes" and "Red Mist". In 2012, Boondox released two songs, "Abaddon" and "Monster", from his upcoming album. However, he left Psychopathic Records due to personal issues.
Boondox returned to Psychopathic Records in 2013 and went on tour with Insane Clown Posse. He released his album Abaddon in 2014, featuring guest appearances from artists such as Big Hoodoo, Violent J, Crucifix, Insane Clown Posse, Jelly Roll, Demi Demaree & Syn.
In 2015, Boondox left Psychopathic Records again and joined Twiztid's label, Majik Ninja Entertainment. He released his album The Murder in 2017, followed by a tour with Blaze Ya Dead Homie and Lex "The Hex" Master.
Boondox has since released several projects, including Turncoat Dirty's album Dirty Days Of Night, The Underground Avengers' album Anomally 88, and his solo album Liquor, Lies & Legacy. In 2020, he released his album Krimson Crow.
