Bobby Mardis, a native of Hammond, Indiana, hails from a rich cultural background, having graduated from the esteemed University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Southern California (USC). As a multifaceted individual, he is a proud member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and the Writers Guild of America (WGA),showcasing his versatility in both creative and technical aspects of the entertainment industry.

Mardis's journey in the industry began when he met Robert Townsend on the stand-up comedy circuit, leading to opportunities to act in notable films such as "Hollywood Shuffle," "Five Heartbeats," and HBO's "Partners in Crime," alongside Keenen Ivory Wayans's "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka." As a filmmaker, he made his mark by writing and directing the Showtime Network's "Why Colors?," featuring an all-star cast including Regina King, Ice-T, Barry White, and Anne Marie Johnson, as well as several notable actors from "Robert Townsend's Partners in Crime."

His impressive resume includes producing and directing "Circle of Pain" for Showtime, starring the Emmy Award-winning actor, Glynn Turman, and featuring Anna Marie Horsford, T'Keyah Crystal Keymah, Todd Bridges, and the late Rosalind Cash in her final film performance. Mardis went on to produce and direct the straight-to-video feature "One Last Time," starring T'Keyah Crystal Keymah, known for her roles in "In Living Color" and "The Cosby Show."

As a seasoned director, Mardis has helmed multi-camera comedy concerts, including "Against All Odds" starring TK Kirkland for Image Entertainment, the gospel comedy "Shout" featuring Mark Christopher Lawrence, and the uproarious "I Got Problems" for Avatar Productions. His film "Midnight Blue" for BET was the highest-rated film in the Arabesque series of movies.
