Biography

Here is the biography of Robert Anthony "Bob" Purvey:

Robert Anthony "Bob" Purvey was born on May 14, 1948, in Cairo, Egypt, to a Greek mother and a British father. He grew up speaking French, Greek, and Arabic, and his family moved to London, England, and later to New York, before settling in Jamaica, Queens. Purvey's early life was marked by a passion for sports, particularly tennis, which he played at the Gezira Sporting Club in Cairo.

As a child, Purvey was physically coordinated and demonstrated a natural talent for sports. He was forced to leave Egypt with his family at the age of six, and they moved to London, where he attended boarding school. The family eventually settled in New York, where Purvey entered grade school at PS #50.

Purvey's love of surfing began at the age of 10, when his sister took him to the Santa Monica Pier. He caught his first wave and stood up, riding all the way onto the sand. His father gave him his first surfboard as a Christmas present, and he quickly became hooked on the sport.

Purvey's surfing career took off in the early 1960s, when he joined the Dewey Weber Competition Team and won several junior surfing championships. He was discovered by a production photographer for Urie Productions, who offered him a role in a TV commercial for Chrysler. This led to Purvey's transition from professional surfer to professional actor.

In the 1970s, Purvey appeared in several film and TV roles, including a 1970 episode of Mission: Impossible and the 1977 Emmy-nominated pilot, Winners: I Can. He also had recurring roles on the soap operas Lovers and Friends and General Hospital.

In addition to his acting career, Purvey has been involved in various business ventures, including the production of surfboards and the operation of a surf shop. He has also been a passionate advocate for environmental causes, particularly in his home community of Malibu, where he has worked to clean up polluted waters and restore the historical wetland environment.

Today, Purvey is still active in the surfing and entertainment industries, and is seeking representation to help him secure his next film or TV project.
