Biography

Bob Holt, a talented individual with a career spanning decades, began his journey in the spotlight with a film role in 1950, playing the esteemed Octavius Caesar in Julius Caesar. This was followed by another notable performance in 1959, featuring in The Great St. Louis Bank Robbery. As his career progressed, Holt shifted his focus towards voice acting, making his mark in 1968 with the film short Johnny Learns His Manners, where he provided all the voices.

Throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, Bob Holt's impressive vocal range was showcased in numerous animated television series and films, including adaptations of Dr. Seuss's works. One of the most captivating aspects of his career during this period was his lead voice role in Ralph Bakshi's 1976 film Wizards, as well as his contributions to Joe Dante's 1984 film Gremlins, where he provided the voices of Mogwai and various other Gremlins.

Sadly, Bob Holt's life was cut short when he passed away on August 2, 1985, due to a heart attack. His final full performance, excluding samples taken from previous projects, was as the voice of Rodney in The Adventures of the American Rabbit, which was released in 1986 following his passing.
