Bjarte Paul Tjøstheim was born in Kristiansand, Norway, but his early life took a significant turn when he was just one year old, as his family relocated to Randaberg. This move would later play a crucial role in shaping his future, as he went on to play drums in the renowned rock-band "Mack and the boys", an ensemble that drew inspiration from the iconic bands "the Police" and Genesis. Although "Mack and the boys" never achieved international success, it laid the foundation for Bjarte's future endeavors.
Despite not having a formal education, Bjarte's early start in life consisted of a mere seven years of elementary school and Sunday school. He then began his career as a host in the local radio station "NRK Rogaland", before being offered a job at the national broadcaster "NRK" in the capital city of Norway, Oslo. This move marked a significant turning point in Bjarte's life, as he joined the popular TV program "Singelklubben", where he met Steinar Sagen.
The chance encounter with Steinar Sagen and his younger brother Tore led to the creation of the highly acclaimed radio program "Radioresepsjonen" in 2006. Today, "Radioresepsjonen" is one of the most popular radio shows in Norway, only rivalled by "Nitimen". The program has garnered a global following, with celebrity fans from all over the world.
Bjarte currently resides in a spacious apartment in Oslo with his girlfriend, Cato Jepp.
