Biography

Billy Beck, a renowned character actor, was born Frank Billerbeck on May 26, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

As a child, Billy showcased his artistic talent by creating drawings of clowns, which would later become a significant aspect of his career.

During World War II, Beck fought bravely with the Allied Forces in France, and after the war, he returned to Paris, France, in 1948, where he embarked on his show business journey by acting in French films.

Billy's talent and charisma soon led him to become a regular performer at Harry's Bar in Paris, where he entertained audiences with his clowning skills on stage with Cirque Medrano.

In 1960, Beck made the transition to California, where he continued to act in a variety of roles, predominantly in small parts, in numerous movies and television shows spanning five consecutive decades.

In addition to his acting career, Beck also gained recognition for his work in TV commercials, as well as his skills as a painter, creating portraits of female nudes.

Furthermore, Billy was a dedicated member of the San Fernando Valley Bango Band, which performed at charity events and retirement homes, bringing joy and entertainment to those in need.

Sadly, Billy Beck passed away on June 29, 2011, at the age of 91, due to congestive heart failure, at an assisted care facility in Glendale, California.

He left behind a great nephew and a great niece, who cherished his memory and the countless contributions he made to the world of entertainment.
