Elizabeth Florine Phares, a renowned American dancer and occasional actress, was born in Mendocino County, California, to a family of English and German descent, part of a large sibling group. Alongside Laverne Thompson and Lindsay Bourquin, Phares formed a unique acrobatic dance trio in the early 1940s, initially performing in local theaters and later touring the country.
This talented trio caught the attention of legendary entertainers Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, who invited them to join a nationwide USO tour to support American troops. The trio's impressive performances earned them feature roles in notable films, including The Three Stooges' Gents Without Cents (1944),Showboat Serenade (1944),and the campy drama Youth Aflame (1944).
In addition to her work with the trio, Phares appeared in a few swing music featurettes alongside Sonny Dunham's orchestra. Her final film appearance was in the romantic comedy The Time, the Place and the Girl (1946),starring Jack Carson and Dennis Morgan.
Years later, the trio reunited for a Three Stooges convention in Ft. Washington, Pennsylvania, in 2003. Phares made her final public appearance at a fan club meeting in 2015, leaving behind a legacy of her remarkable talent and contributions to the world of dance and entertainment.
