Elizabeth Mary Furness, a renowned individual, was born on January 3, 1916, in the vibrant city of New York. Her early years were marked by a promising career in modeling, where she was affiliated with the esteemed Powers agency, and subsequently, she made appearances in numerous films, accumulating a total of over 35 movie credits.

However, it is her exceptional talent and charisma that earned her the reputation as the highly paid television spokesperson for Westinghouse Electric Corporation, a position that showcased her exceptional abilities to a wide audience.

As her career continued to flourish, she shifted her focus towards consumer affairs, and for a remarkable 16-year span, she appeared as a consumer affairs expert on NBC's iconic television program, Today (1952).

Tragically, Elizabeth Mary Furness's life came to an abrupt end at the age of 78, due to stomach cancer, on April 2, 1994, in the city that never sleeps, New York City.
