Born in 1944 in the city of Sosnowitz, located in the historical region of Upper Silesia, Bertram Verhaag embarked on a journey of academic pursuit, studying sociology and economics.
For three years, he worked as a freelance employee at the Munich Department of Town Planning, gaining valuable experience in urban development and planning.
In 1972, Bertram Verhaag enrolled at the Munich College of Film and TV, where he spent three years honing his skills in the film industry.
In 1976, along with Claus Strigel, Bertram co-founded DENKmal-Film Production, a company that would go on to produce over 120 films for both cinema and television. As producers, authors, and directors, they collaborated on numerous projects, showcasing their expertise and creativity.
As of 2013, DENKmal-Film Production has evolved into two separate companies: DENKmal-Film Verhaag GmbH and DENKmal-Film Strigel GmbH.
