Bernice Thurman Hunter, a renowned Canadian author, was born on November 3, 1922, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where her childhood nurtured a profound interest in writing. It wasn't until the age of 48 that her first published work, the short story "A Grandchild Can Make Life Beautiful Again," was published in the Toronto Star. This marked the beginning of a prolific writing career, which would span decades and yield numerous critically acclaimed novels.
Her debut novel, "That Scatterbrain Booky," was published in 1981, followed by two more installments in the "Booky" series: "With Love from Booky" (1983) and "As Ever, Booky" (1985).
