Bernard Hill

Bernard Hill was a renowned English actor, celebrated for his iconic portrayals of complex characters in various film and television productions. His most notable roles include that of King Théoden in Peter Jackson's esteemed The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Captain Edward Smith in James Cameron's blockbuster Titanic, and Luther Plunkitt, the Warden of San Quentin Prison, in Clint Eastwood's gripping True Crime. Hill's impressive repertoire also encompasses a wide range of television dramas, featuring memorable performances as Yosser Hughes, a troubled "hard man" whose life spirals out of control in Alan Bleasdale's influential Boys from the Blackstuff, which debuted in the 1980s.
