Biography

After completing his formal education, he embarked on a nine-year tenure at the esteemed Oldham Repertory Theatre in Lancashire, eventually rising to the position of manager. During this period, he met and married his lovely wife, Gillian, who served as his trusty assistant stage manager. Together, they reside in the picturesque town of Weybridge, Surrey, where they often spend their leisure time engaging in a variety of aquatic pursuits.

Their favorite pastime is fishing for Perch and Chub on the riverbank, with occasional excursions into the open sea to catch Cod and sea Trout. Despite his impressive catches, he rarely consumes what he reaps, often finding the experience of eating his freshly caught fish to be underwhelming. In fact, his personal record stands at a whopping 20-pound pike, which his wife, Gillian, kindly prepared for him. Alas, he was less than impressed, likening the taste to old rope.

He confesses that his true passion lies in fly-fishing and spinning, where he can be active and on his feet, casting his line with finesse. This dynamic approach to angling holds far more appeal for him than the more sedentary activity of waiting for a fish to bite. As a result, he has established a strict rule for himself: whenever he completes a film or television series, he takes a well-deserved break to indulge in his beloved fishing hobby.
