Ben's illustrious career has traversed both the realm of live performances and the silver screen, showcasing his remarkable versatility as an artist.
Throughout his life, Ben has had the privilege of acting in numerous plays, with the majority of his performances being part of Bill Fegan's Kaleidoscope Players. Moreover, he has also demonstrated his talent as a playwright, with several of his works being successfully produced, such as "Some Die From Drinking Water" and "Back to the Hat Factory".
In addition to his accomplishments on stage, Ben has also worked behind the scenes in the film industry. He has been involved in the Art and Construction departments of various films, including Dances With Wolves, Wyatt Earp, Medicine Man, McHale's Navy, Fool for Love, and Silent Tongue.
Ben's creative endeavors extend beyond the realm of film and theater. He has also written two novels, each with its unique narrative and themes. His book, "The Coordinator", tells the story of a Hollywood company preparing to film in the coastal jungles of Mexico, where a series of gruesome killings, attempted murders, and kidnappings take place.
Ben's other novel, "Firedamp", is a sweeping tale of love, hate, and revolution, set against the backdrop of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The story revolves around the struggles of poor but hopeful immigrant coal miners, who were forced to work in deplorable conditions for meager wages on the Colorado-New Mexico border. The novel explores the power struggles between these coal miners and the wealthy men who sought to exploit them.
Outside of his creative pursuits, Ben has a home on Mexico's Pacific coast and a ranch in Tinaja, New Mexico, where he can retreat to and recharge his creative energies.
