Ben Miles' journey in the world of performing arts began with a rigorous training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, laying the foundation for a series of remarkable stage and screen appearances. One of his earliest notable performances was in the Old Vic's production of William Shakespeare's "Richard II" in 2005, where he played the role of Bolingbroke alongside his father-in-law Gary Raymond.
Miles' subsequent performances continued to garner attention, including a notable appearance in Harold Pinter's "Betrayal" at The Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End in 2011, alongside Kristin Scott Thomas and Douglas Henshall. Directed by Ian Rickson, this production showcased Miles' versatility as a performer.
In 2014, Miles took on the iconic role of Thomas Cromwell in the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) adaptation of Hilary Mantel's novels "Wolf Hall" and "Bring Up the Bodies". This critically acclaimed production premiered in Stratford and later transferred to the Aldwych Theatre in London. The RSC later brought the plays to New York City in 2015, with Miles' performance earning a nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor at the Tony Awards.
Miles' stage work also includes an acclaimed production of Alexi Kaye Campbell's "Sunset at the Villa Thalia", which premiered at the National Theatre of Great Britain in May 2016. Directed by Simon Godwin, this production boasted an impressive cast, featuring Elizabeth McGovern, Sam Crane, Pippa Nixon, Christos Callow, Glykeria Dimou, and Eve Polycarpou.
