Biography

Ben was a lanky, tough-looking American character actor, renowned for his striking physical appearance, which comprised narrow eyes and an icy delivery. This distinctive combination made him an exceptionally effective actor for portraying ex-cons, thugs, or police officers, many of whom were not necessarily morally upright.

Ben's involvement in the entertainment industry began at a remarkably young age, as he started singing on stage by the time he was just six years old. Later in his life, he pursued a successful career as a prizefighter, boasting an impressive record of 20 wins out of 22 bouts.

Ben's on-screen presence became a familiar face to audiences starting from 1963, and he developed a notable affinity for crime-themed television. He appeared in several notable series, including Police Story (1973),Cannon (1971),and The Streets of San Francisco (1972).

In addition to his acting career, Ben also made a significant income from television commercials. One of his most notable and controversial commercials was an anti-smoking advertisement for the California Department of Health Services.

Tragically, Ben Frank's life was cut short when he died prematurely from a heart attack in September 1990, at the age of just 56.
