Ben Burke is a multifaceted creative force with a lifelong passion for the motion picture industry. As a producer, cinematographer, gaffer, and director, he has been immersed in the craft, history, and business of filmmaking for nearly two decades.
Ben's fascination with filmmaking began at a young age, as he started making his own movies at 12 years old using his family's camcorder. By 19, he had founded a film society and went on to produce and direct numerous short-form projects, continuing to develop his craft over the years.
Ben's directing credits include the critically acclaimed 70-minute crime-thriller "Nobody In Particular", which received praise for its intelligent and thought-provoking storyline. He has since produced numerous feature films, including "Fason Nou: Our Way", a ghost story/psychological thriller, and "Red River Moon", a survival story about two young girls stranded in the Appalachian wilderness.
As a seasoned professional, Ben has worked in nearly every crew position on set, from camera to post-production, giving him a unique and seasoned perspective on the filmmaking process. His extensive experience has led to a list of commercial clients that includes L'Oreal, Armani, Yves St. Laurent, and more.
Ben is also skilled in multi-media theater, or "Live Movies", where actors on stage interact with projected images. He has worked on dozens of stage productions and has experience in professional videography for live events, as well as managing performance theaters and galleries for the Arts Council.
Recently, Ben partnered with former marketing executive Sean McCarthy to reinvent Torn & Restored Pictures, with an eye on the international market for feature films and broadcast content. His upcoming feature films, "Let It Bleed" and "Better Criminal", are set to be released in 2016.
Ben resides in both Lexington, Kentucky, and Los Angeles, California, and continues to be a creative force in the film industry.
