Gregory "Beau" Holden embarked on a film career in 1986, initially serving as a personal bodyguard for Richard Gere during the production of Tri-Star's "No Mercy". He went on to work with Gere on his subsequent film, "Miles from Home", in 1987.
In 1987, Holden was hired as a personal bodyguard and driver for Dennis Quaid during the filming of "Everybody's All-American". Following the completion of the film, he relocated to Los Angeles and began working full-time as Quaid's personal assistant and driver. The two collaborated on 31 film and television projects from 1987 to 2008, working in various states and foreign countries. Holden reunited with Quaid in 2018 for the film "I Can Only Imagine".
In 1991, Holden joined the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG-AFTRA) after being cast in a utility stunt scene for the feature film "Wilder Napalm". He secured his first speaking role in 1995's "Something to Talk About", playing "Frank" in a party scene alongside Julia Roberts and Quaid.
In 2000, Holden was cast by Steven Soderbergh in "Traffic" as "Cal Trans - D.E.A. Agent", earning a nomination for the 7th Annual Screen Actor's Guild Awards for Best Ensemble Cast in 2001.
Holden's most notable role to date was as "Ted Gassner", a low-level fence tortured in a garage scene by Johnny Tran, in "The Fast and the Furious".
He continued to appear in supporting roles in various feature films and television projects, including HBO's "Dinner With Friends", directed by Norman Jewison.
As a utility stunt performer, Holden worked on several films and was the stunt driver for the Jaguar X Type in the award-winning "Jaguar vs Snow Plow" Super Bowl commercial in 2002.
In 2008, Holden began working with various actors, directors, and producers as a personal security, driver, and personal assistant, including Nicolas Cage on eight of his films.
In 2017, he started working as a personal driver for Mahershala Ali on "Green Book" and in 2018 on HBO's "True Detective Season 3".
Holden has also worked as a personal driver and security for several notable individuals, including Michael Keaton, Mick Jagger, James Gandolfini, Meg Ryan, Sharon Stone, Aaron Eckhart, and Robert Pattinson on the final two Twilight films, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 & 2".
