Biography

Born in Lebanon in the year 1978, Maher Breish is a multifaceted creative force, boasting an impressive repertoire as an Emmy Award-winning scriptwriter and director. Prior to his ascension to writing and directing, Breish began his career as an actor, taking on roles in Lebanon and the United Kingdom, with notable performances in films such as "Blind Flight" (2003) and "Hamburg Cell" (2004).

Since 2007, Breish has helmed three short films, each garnering significant attention and accolades at esteemed film festivals. His directorial debut, "Both" (2007),premiered at the prestigious Cannes Critics' Week, while "Ziu" (2013) and "Free Range" (2014) went on to tour and collect numerous awards.

As a scriptwriter, Breish has penned a diverse array of web series and films, including the International Digital Emmy Award-winning "Shankaboot" (2009-2011),"Fasateen" (2012),"The Little Drop" (2015),"Undocumented" (2017),and "Aleph" (2018).

In addition to his individual creative pursuits, Breish is also the founder and director of Scenario Beirut, a collective of screenwriters based in Beirut, fostering a community of talented writers and storytellers.
