Barry Ford, a native Californian, boasts a unique linguistic repertoire due to his mixed heritage, being the son of a British father and an American mother. During his college years, he joined Actors Equity and performed in a summer season of musicals with the Sacramento Music Circus. Subsequently, he appeared in various productions in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Tiger At The Gates at the esteemed Actor's Workshop.
In the early 1960s, Barry worked as a film dubber, actor, and singer-dancer in Paris, France, earning the nickname "American in Paris" in a French newspaper following his song and dance performances on French television. The American TV Director, Richard Kinon, was impressed by Barry's work as a guest star in Harry's Girls, a series filmed in Europe, and encouraged him to return to the US to pursue a career in Hollywood.
Upon his return to Hollywood, Barry's exceptional stage performances in The Deputy and Macbird! at a small professional theater garnered him attention, leading to principal roles in television and film, many of which showcased his proficiency in French and German. He subsequently relocated to New York to further his stage career, taking on major roles in daytime television, film, and theater across the country.
After years of success in New York City and beyond, Barry returned to Hollywood in 2005, continuing to work in various media, including the internet and video games.
