Biography

Born on the South Side of Chicago, Barry Brewer embarked upon a journey as a stand-up comedian in the year 2002, commencing his career amidst the local churches where he honed his craft, later transitioning to comedy clubs throughout Chicago, before making a move to Los Angeles in 2004 to pursue an acting career.

Initially, Brewer's breakthrough came from participating in televised comedy competitions, including Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes on TV One, where he shared the stage with his peers, Tiffany Haddish and Lil Rel Howery, and BET's Coming to the Stage.

Notably, Brewer is most recognized for his stand-up comedy special, Chicago I'm Home, as well as his appearance in Tyler Perry's Bruh. Furthermore, he has recently secured a recurring role on the BET series Games People Play and made a notable appearance in Kevin Hart's Netflix special, Kevin Hart's Guide to Black History.
