Juliet Stevenson was born on August 5th, 1948, in Hastings, East Sussex, England. She embarked on her television career in 1970, making her debut in the TV series "A Family at War" where she played the role of Freda Ashton.
Her subsequent appearances in "The Beiderbecke Affair" (1985),"The Beiderbecke Tapes" (1987),and "The Beiderbecke Connection" (1988) alongside James Bolam further solidified her reputation as a talented actress.
In recent years, she has narrated several documentaries, including "Frontier House", "When Pat Phoenix Met Tony Booth" (2002),"50s & 60s in Living Colour", and "What Granny Did in the War".
On television, she has appeared in notable series such as "Cracker" (1993),where she played the role of Judith, Fitz's wife, and more recently in "Hornblower: Duty" (2003) and "Hornblower: Loyalty" (2003).
Her film credits include "You're Dead..." (1999),where she played Professor Corner, and "The Escort" (1999),also known as "The Escort", in which she portrayed Pauline.
In the theatre, she has had the opportunity to play a wide range of roles, including Goneril in "King Lear" at the National Theatre in 1997, which was later adapted for BBC TV in 1998. She also appeared in "The Bullet" at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre in London's West End in 1998, playing the role of Billie.
