Barbara Curry's academic background is marked by a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree earned from the esteemed Northwestern University School of Law, as well as a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Screenwriting from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Prior to embarking on a career in the entertainment industry, Curry spent nearly a decade serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in downtown Los Angeles, where she was a key member of the Major Violent Crimes Unit. Her work on federal cases spanned a wide range of high-stakes and complex investigations, including murder-for-hire, prison murder, racketeering, arson, kidnapping, and bank robbery.
In addition to her work in the legal profession, Curry has also shared her expertise with the next generation of legal professionals. She has taught criminal procedure at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Headquarters in Quantico, Virginia, and advanced trial advocacy at the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
