Barbara Albert

Barbara Albert, a renowned German-language filmmaker, was born in the culturally rich city of Vienna in the year 1970. Her journey in the world of filmmaking began in 1991 when she enrolled in the prestigious Vienna Film School to hone her skills in directing and screenwriting. It was during her time at the film school that she crafted her student film, Nachtschwalben, which would go on to win the coveted 'Best Short' award at the Max Ophüls-Preis Saarbrücken in 1994. This early success would prove to be a springboard for her future endeavors, as she went on to direct, write, and produce numerous award-winning feature films that would premiere at some of the most esteemed film festivals around the world.
