Axelle Carolyn embarked on a freelance reporting career, contributing to prominent film magazines and websites. This non-fiction writing journey culminated in the 2009 publication of her book, 'Horror Movies In The New Millennium'. Subsequently, she ventured into acting, making a brief appearance in the 2010 film CENTURION, released by Pathe. Carolyn then refocused her creative energy on directing, commencing with a trio of short films in 2011: THE LAST POST, THE HALLOWEEN KID, and HOOKED. These short films garnered numerous awards and accolades at international film festivals. Her feature film directorial debut, the British ghost story SOULMATE, premiered in the US and UK in 2014. The film toured festivals worldwide, earning recognition, including a Best Director award at Rome's FantaFestival. In 2015, Carolyn co-created, co-produced, and co-directed the horror anthology TALES OF HALLOWEEN, featuring an impressive roster of directors, including Lucky McKee and Neil Marshall. This critically acclaimed film earned a Rondo Award and a Saturn Award, solidifying Carolyn's reputation as a prominent figure in the horror genre. Her work on TALES OF HALLOWEEN also led to recognition from Fandango, who listed her as one of their emerging directors to watch, and Tribeca Film, which praised her as a key figure in the future of indie horror.
