Augusto Contento, a cinematic visionary, was born on January 22nd, 1973, in the charming Italian town of Lanciano. As the years went by, he relocated to the City of Light, Paris, in the year 2000, where he joined forces with fellow filmmaker Giancarlo Grande to establish the renowned cinema production company, Cineparallax.
Contento's directorial debut, the thought-provoking documentary "Onibus", garnered widespread acclaim, including the prestigious Best Italian Documentary Award at the esteemed Bellaria Festival. His subsequent documentaries, "Tramas" and "Transparent Roads", both long-form films, were selected for screening at the prominent Locarno Film Festival and the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema (BAFICI).
Contento's subsequent works continued to receive international recognition, with "Roads of Water" being chosen for the Rome Film Festival, where it was introduced and supported by the esteemed Mme Danielle Mitterrand. Furthermore, Augusto Contento made history by becoming the first director to be distributed worldwide by UNESCO, a testament to the impact of his cinematic endeavors.
The talented filmmaker's sixth feature, "Parallax Sounds", won the coveted UCCA Award at the Turin Film Festival and was subsequently selected for screening at the Reykjavik International Film Festival and the IndieLisbõa festival.
