Biography

Audrey Florine Stone, the devoted spouse of the illustrious Dr. Seuss, whose pseudonym was Ted Geisel, played a pivotal role in overseeing the authorization of Dr. Seuss films under the Seuss Estate following her husband's passing.

Her tenure in this capacity commenced with the production of Ron Howard's cinematic adaptation of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", starring the talented Jim Carrey, which marked a significant milestone in the translation of Dr. Seuss's beloved works onto the big screen.

Subsequently, she was instrumental in bringing forth the second and final live-action film based on Dr. Seuss's creations, "The Cat in the Hat", which featured the comedic talents of Mike Myers. However, it appears that Mrs. Stone was deeply disenchanted with the adult-oriented content that began to permeate these adaptations, ultimately leading her to take decisive action to prevent further live-action Dr. Seuss films from being produced.

Instead, she focused her efforts on producing three animated Dr. Seuss films in collaboration with esteemed animation studios Blue Sky Studios and Illumination, before her untimely passing.
