Biography

Born in Kerala, India, Arya initially pursued a career as a computer engineer before his passion for filmmaking and impressive physique led him to modeling, eventually transitioning into acting.

Director Vishnu Vardhan's protégé, Arya collaborated with renowned filmmakers, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and subtle actor, delivering poignant portrayals.

His debut film, Vishnu Vardhan's Arinthum Ariyamalum (2005),saw Arya play the son of Prakash Raj in a critically acclaimed young gangster role, earning him the Filmfare Best Debut Award South and Best New Male Face Award at the Filmfare Awards.

Since then, Arya has embodied a wide range of characters with equal intensity, showcasing emotional depth, sharpness, on-screen presence, a fine sense of humor, and an extremely powerful unaffected candor.

His dedication to his craft earned him the respect of the south Indian film industry swiftly. Arya is known for carefully selecting projects and giving them his utmost best.

He has portrayed a tough yet endearing gangster in Pattiyal, an impressive sadhu in Bala's Naan Kadavul (nominated for Best Actor at the 57th South Filmfare Awards),a bubbly suitor in Sarvam, a soft lover in Ullam Ketkumae, and a romantic wrestler in Madharasapattinam, among other characters.

Arya also founded his production company, "The Show People", which will release its first film, Padithurai, in 2010.

His younger brother, Sathya, is a newcomer actor.
