Arthur Pierson, a native of Seattle, Washington, first made his mark on the Broadway stage in 1929, marking the beginning of a long and illustrious career. Following his successful debut, he was subsequently signed by Paramount Pictures, which utilized his talents as a rehearsal director for the renowned filmmakers Cecil B. DeMille and Ernst Lubitsch. During his time at Paramount, Pierson made a few appearances in films produced by Fox, before returning to the bright lights of Broadway in 1935.
It was during this period that he met and eventually married his co-star, the lovely Ruth Matteson, in 1937. The couple's union would last a lifetime. After a brief hiatus, Pierson returned to Hollywood in the 1940s, where he would go on to direct a small but notable number of films. As the years passed, Pierson's focus began to shift towards the burgeoning world of television, where he would make a lasting impact.
In his later years, Pierson served as an executive at the esteemed animation studio Hanna-Barbera, leaving behind a legacy that would be remembered for generations to come. Tragically, his life was cut short when he succumbed to a heart attack, leaving behind a wealth of memories and a career that would be remembered for its many accomplishments.
