Biography

Arthur's illustrious career began with a stint as a cadet clerk in the police force, where he honed his skills before taking a four-year hiatus to serve in the navy during wartime. Following his military service, he pursued a new path, enrolling as a student teacher before suddenly changing course and enrolling in the esteemed Bradford Civic Theatre School to hone his acting craft. This marked the beginning of a distinguished theatrical career, with Arthur taking the stage in repertory productions at the iconic Bristol Old Vic, Northampton, and Birmingham, as well as sharing the spotlight with the legendary Orson Welles in a West End production of Othello.

Arthur's impressive resume also boasts a string of notable film appearances, including the critically acclaimed Charlie Bubbles and Privilege. His television credits include a diverse range of shows, including Z Cars, The Troubleshooters, United, Coronation Street, and, most notably, Emmerdale Farm (now simply known as Emmerdale),where he was one of the original cast members.

In his personal life, Arthur is married to a former pottery teacher and the proud father of two sons.
