Person Biography:
Arnita Champion was born on June 6th in Norfolk, Virginia, USA, making her the youngest daughter of Barbara Epps, an apartment manager, and James Champion, a former carpenter. She has three older sisters, Barbara, Christina, and Lisa.
Arnita's athletic prowess began at the tender age of six, showcasing her impressive speed on the track. She continued to break and set records throughout her high school career, earning titles in the 100 meters, 100-meter hurdles, and long jump. Her achievements didn't stop there, as she received a full athletic scholarship to Texas Southern University.
Throughout her college career, Arnita held numerous titles, including "All American Hurdler," "All Time Individual Champion," United States Track and Field (USTAF) Elite Athlete, National Pan American Champion, and member of the World Championship team and the top 8 finalist in the 84, 88, and 92 Olympic Trials.
In 1993, Arnita took a hiatus from competition to give birth to her daughter, Brittany Lauren, whom she lovingly calls her pride and joy. However, her journey to the 1996 Olympics was hindered by an untimely Achilles injury, which led to major surgery and ultimately forced her to "hang up her spikes."
With a newfound passion for acting, Arnita quickly made a name for herself in the industry, landing lead roles in independent films such as "Rise-Above the Silver and Gold," "Behind Closed Doors," "Consignment," "In with Thieves," "VooDoo Dolly," "A Song and a Prayer," and "Psalm 23." Her talent for giving versatile performances, unique acting skills, charisma, and presence made her a sought-after actress.
After a five-year hiatus, Arnita cut her dreadlocks, unveiling a new look that exudes confidence, class, and a sultry, sexy, spunky, and undeniable Champion style. Her name speaks for itself, but it takes more to be a true champion.
