Born and raised in Puerto Rico to Cuban parents, Armando cultivated his craft at Northwestern University, before relocating to New York City to further hone his skills.
Throughout his extensive career in film and television, Armando has demonstrated his impressive range, appearing in numerous feature films and securing recurring, guest-starring, and regular roles on a variety of popular shows.
In addition to his live-action work, Armando is also a skilled voice actor and motion capture artist, with his voice featured in a range of projects, including video games, ad campaigns, podcasts, and audiobooks.
On stage, Armando has made a lasting impact, earning a Lucille Lortel nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play for his portrayal of the title character in Quiara Hudes' Elliot Trilogy, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning Water by the Spoonful.
He has also had the privilege of performing at renowned theaters such as the Public Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, The Goodman, Steppenwolf, Hartford Stage, Victory Gardens, and the Wilma Theater, among others.
Beyond his work as an actor, Armando has also ventured into writing and producing, with his debut feature film Seneca winning multiple awards on the film festival circuit and later being picked up by HBO/MAX.
He has also co-directed the Audible series The Justice alongside frequent collaborator Jason Chaet, with a script by James Patterson and an all-star cast led by Sanaa Lathan, which topped Audible's charts at #1.
Currently, Armando is directing a new series for Audible/Patterson, and his latest film Meri Crismas is in development.
