Arjan Bajwa, a renowned Indian film actor, has made a significant mark in both Bollywood and Telugu cinema. Born on September 3, 1979, he began his journey in the film industry by appearing in several Telugu films, breaking the norm by being the first North Indian actor to play leading roles in eight films, with five of them being successful.
Arjan's breakthrough in Bollywood came with Director Mani Ratnam's critically acclaimed film, Guru (2007),where he played the antagonist opposite Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. His performance received widespread acclaim, earning him rave reviews. He then went on to play the male lead in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion (2008),starring alongside Priyanka Chopra. The film was a massive hit, garnering immense critical acclaim and winning several prestigious awards, including the National Awards.
Arjan also appeared in the super hit Telugu movie King (2008),alongside Nagarjuna Akkineni and Trisha, and in the blockbuster Arundhati (2009),starring Anushka Shetty and Sonu Sood, which became the highest-grossing Telugu film at the time.
After receiving critical acclaim for his intense roles, Arjan decided to try his hand at comedy in Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar (2012),where he was paired with Sonakshi Sinha. He has also acted in Crook (2010) with Emraan Hashmi, Bobby Jasoos (2014) with Vidya Balan, and will next be seen in the upcoming film Rustom (2016) alongside Akshay Kumar and Ileana D'Cruz.
Apart from acting, Arjan has also hosted several prestigious events, including the Filmfare Awards (South) in 2007, The International Film Festival of India Goa Closing Ceremony in 2010 and 2014, and the Kabaddi World Cup Opening Ceremony in Jalandhar. Recently, he hosted the PTC Punjabi Film Awards, held on April 14, 2016.
Before entering the film industry, Arjan was a successful model, having walked the ramp for several prominent fashion designers. He made his television debut with several commercials for brands like Lux, Veet, Fiat Palio, and Godrej AC, featuring alongside prominent Bollywood actresses such as Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif, and Preity Zinta.
