Aries Spears, a Chicago native, discovered his comedic talents at the tender age of 14, when he began crafting his own stand-up comedy routine around his hometown. By the time he was 17, he had landed a notable role in the 1995 film "Home of Angels", starring alongside esteemed actors Abe Vigoda, Sherman Hemsley, and Joe Frazier.
Throughout his career, Spears has accumulated a diverse range of film credits, including "The Pest" (1997),where he shared the screen with John Leguizamo, as well as "Jerry Maguire" (1996),"Out-of-Sync" (1995),"Malcolm X" (1992),and "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" (1998).
Spears' first foray into television was on cable's "Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam" in 1992, followed by an appearance on "Showtime at the Apollo" in 1987. His subsequent move to Los Angeles in 1992 led to a recurring role on the popular sitcom "A Different World" (1987) and a regular spot at renowned comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store, The Improv, and The Laugh Factory.
In the years that followed, Spears was cast in a starring role opposite Glenn Frey in the 1993 series "South of Sunset". His extensive television credits also include the TV movie "Crosstown Traffic" (1995),"The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." (1993),and "Soul Train" (1971). Furthermore, Spears lent his voice to the animated series "C-Bear and Jamal" (1996).
