As a freelance theatre director, she has had the privilege of directing a diverse array of professional and community productions. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to work with numerous Scottish theatre companies, including a prolonged tenure at Dundee Rep, where she held the esteemed position of Associate Director.
During her time at Dundee Rep, she had the pleasure of directing a wide range of productions, including Dracula, The Jungle Book, If the Moon Can Be Believed, and My Mother Said I Never Should. Her work at Dundee Rep was marked by a commitment to artistic excellence and a passion for storytelling.
In addition to her work in theatre, she is also the founder of Loadsaweeminsingin, a talented group of 40 women who come together to form an acapella singing ensemble. The group celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2004 by staging a brand new operetta, commissioned specifically for them by the Scottish Arts Council and written by the renowned Dundee singer-songwriter Michael Marra.
Her work outside of Scotland has taken her to esteemed institutions such as The Royal Court, Holloway Prison, and the Theatre on the Square in Memphis. She has also had the opportunity to work with the Tinderbox Theatre Company in Belfast, directing Revenge by Michael Duke.
After her time with Tinderbox Theatre Company, she relocated her freelance base to Northern Ireland and went on to become the Artistic Director of The Centre for Excellence in Creative and Performing Arts, a new interdisciplinary arts program at Queen's University, Belfast. In this role, she has been instrumental in shaping the program's artistic vision and direction.
