Born on April 21, 1964, Ana Luiza Machado da Silva Muylaert, professionally known as Anna Muylaert, is a multifaceted Brazilian creative force, exceling as a film and television director, producer, and screenwriter.

Anna's academic background in filmmaking was fostered at the prestigious School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo (USP),where she spent four years from 1980 to 1984 honing her craft.

Before venturing into production, Anna honed her skills as a film critic for esteemed publications IstoÉ and O Estado de S. Paulo. In 1988, she joined the team at Rede Gazeta's program TV Mix, solidifying her presence in the Brazilian television landscape.

Throughout her illustrious career, Anna has taken on various roles, including editor and reporter for TV Cultura's Matéria-Prima in 1999. Additionally, she has demonstrated her versatility by writing scripts for popular Cultura programs Mundo da Lua (1991-92) and Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum (1994-97).
