Angelo was born in a quiet Washington town, where his fascination with movies began at a remarkably young age. This interest only intensified as he pursued a degree in biblical studies at Simpson University. However, it wasn't until the middle of his academic journey that his passion and opportunity would intersect in a pivotal way. In the fall of 2004, the Los Angeles Film Studies Center brought him to the vibrant city of Hollywood, where he secured an internship in the feature production office at 20th Century Fox. This experience on the studio lot earned him a coveted spot in Act One, an elite writing program designed to guide and mentor emerging storytellers.
By the fall of 2007, Angelo found himself surrounded by a tight-knit group of talented filmmakers who shared his passion and sense of humor. Despite being young, broke, and still learning the ropes, it was through these intimate relationships that he discovered success. He launched Paper Crane Productions' first short film, Grande Drip, which featured music by the acclaimed singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson and a hilarious cameo by the renowned director Garry Marshall, known for his work on Pretty Woman.
Angelo went on to write and produce several commercials, as well as his second award-winning short, Knight to D7. This film boasted impressive performances by Emmy-winning actors Jackée (Sister Sister, 227) and Hector Elizondo (Chicago Hope, Valentine's Day),and was scored by the Grammy-winning composer Mateo Messina (Juno). As he continues to shape the future of Paper Crane Productions, Angelo hopes that his team will strive to create stories that not only entertain and captivate audiences but also leave a lasting impact.
