Angelica Rose Torres was raised in Minnesota, where she began her acting career under her birth name Angelica Chitwood. She spent most of her high school years mastering musical theater and classical vocal training.
At 17, Angelica moved to California to pursue her dreams of being a professional actress and recording artist. She studied with her peers, honing her skills in improvisation, scene writing, auditioning, script breakdown, and contemporary pop vocals.
As a singer-songwriter, Angelica has written, produced, and released 19 singles across various genres, including Christian, country, rock, pop, R&B, soul, and hip-hop. She has also written and produced 13 unreleased tracks. Additionally, Angelica is a professional vocal and acting coach for all ages.
Her music career spans multiple releases, including the "Heal the World" series, which featured five singles and three music videos between 2016 and 2017. Her debut single, "That Light," was released in June 2016, blending pop and hip-hop.
In 2017-2018, Angelica worked on her album "Rollercoaster," a collection of pop, bluesy, rock, and country tunes inspired by her self-written, self-produced, and self-directed television series of the same name. The show stars Angelica and her father, Bob Chitwood, and explores the making of her new album.
Angelica released new singles, including "Ask My Daddy" in 2019, which won "Best Music Video" at The Southeastern International Film & Music Festival, and "I Won't Go Back," which brought awareness to domestic violence and abuse.
In 2020, she released "Ladylike," a song aimed at raising awareness for the #metoo movement and sexual abuse victims. It won the 2020 Women's Freedom Song Contest and plans to do more with the release.
Angelica's television series, "Rollercoaster (The Pilot)," premiered at The Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival and won several awards, including "Best Episodic Series" and "Best Actress." The Queen Palm International Film Festival recognized her with the "Best Writer" award.
Angelica released new singles, including "Tonight" and "Safety," and remade her 2016 hit "Choose Joy" in a softer acoustic version. In 2024, she relocated to Austin, TX, with her husband Jesus Torres and is working on her new Christian album.
Her first single off the new album, "In Love (4:8)," was released on April 8th, 2025, and the full album is set to finish and release by early 2026.
