Angela Dodson, a native of a small town in Texas, embarked on a transformative journey in 2002, leaving her hometown behind to pursue her passion for acting in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. This bold move was sparked by her experience as a finalist in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Pageant in Oahu, Hawaii, where she was chosen to be an extra in the made-for-TV special "Baywatch Hawaiian Wedding".
Prior to making the leap, Angela was managing a chiropractic clinic in Beaumont, Texas, but she had already made up her mind to take the plunge. On March 17th, 2002, she packed her belongings into her Honda Accord and embarked on a 25-hour drive to Los Angeles, where she had arranged to sublet a living space in a make-up artist's home for $350 a month.
As she searched for representation, Angela was sent out on an audition to get feedback from casting directors on her on-camera presence. This audition, for the reality TV show "The Joe Schmo Show", proved to be a turning point in her career, as she landed the series regular role of Molly Crabtree the very same day. The show, which aired on Spike TV, quickly gained a massive following, and Angela went on to secure small roles on popular shows such as the daytime drama "General Hospital" and the FX hit "Nip/Tuck".
Throughout her time in Los Angeles, Angela also hosted several on-air and live shows, including "Christmas At the Grove" alongside Wayne Brady. Her film credits include the DTV movies "National Lampoon's Pledge This" and "Pretty Cool 2". In 2006, Angela received devastating news about the health of her grandfather, which led her to return to Texas to be with her family during their time of need.
Tragedy struck when she lost both her paternal and maternal grandfathers within a four-day period, and Angela made the difficult decision to return to her hometown. She currently works in the medical field, marketing for a diagnostic sleep lab, and has appeared in a few short films, as well as the upcoming Indie film "SKUM Rocks". Despite her journey taking a different turn than she had initially anticipated, Angela's experience in Los Angeles has undoubtedly shaped her into the person she is today.
