Angel Salazar, born March 2, 1956, is a Cuban-American comedian and actor. He is a manic, human laugh factory, difficult to describe, with a unique blend of street-smart ethnic wisecracks, risqué humor, physical comedy, and audience involvement. His Cuban heritage and penchant for sporting mini-skirts add to his distinctive performance style.
Angel Salazar's career has been marked by periods of disappearance from films. He vanished from the big screen in 1993, only to reappear in the documentary "Comedian" in 2002. He then re-emerged in 2003 with roles in "Harlem Blues" and "Vote for Me". However, he disappeared again for two years before returning in 2005 with "Rose Woes and Joe's".
In between his film appearances, Angel Salazar worked on various projects. He appeared in the documentary "The Latin Legends of Comedy" in 2006, alongside J.J. Ramirez and Joey Vega. He then reappeared in 2007 with "Made in Brooklyn" before disappearing once more for two years.
Angel Salazar returned to films in 2009 with the short film "Trust Me". The following year, he appeared in another short film, "Crumble", alongside his co-star from Scarface (1983),Steven Bauer.
In 2011, Angel Salazar came back to feature films with "The Last Gamble", playing a character named Angel. He has two complete films scheduled for release in 2012.
