Born in the historic city of Salem, Massachusetts, a place steeped in rich history and folklore. Before pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, he had the opportunity to hone his golf skills as a member of the Stanford golf team during his freshman year.
As a journeyman actor, he spent the 1990s working in the industry, eventually deciding to hang up his acting boots in the year 2000. However, his career didn't end there. He went on to become a partner in an Investment Advisory Group at a brokerage house in Los Angeles, showcasing his versatility and adaptability.
In a surprising turn of events, he landed a role in the hit TV show The Office (2005) through a fluke audition. He has expressed his gratitude to Allison Jones, the show's casting director, for recognizing his potential and giving him the chance to shine.
In addition to his work on The Office, he was part of a short-lived sketch comedy group called House of Floyd, which featured fellow comedians Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, and Dax Shepard. The group originated from their work at The Groundlings, a renowned improv comedy club in Los Angeles.
Before his career in comedy, he had the opportunity to work with country music superstar Reba McEntire, appearing in two of her music videos: 'Rather Ride Around With You' and 'What If It's You.' He also had a passion for golf, competing in the U.S. Amateur many years ago.
In his personal life, he is married to Nancy Banks, an acting teacher and coach, and they have two sons together.
