Biography

Andrzej Filończyk, a talented baritone, was born on October 20th, 1994. His musical journey began in 2000 when he started taking piano lessons at the Fryderyk Chopin Music School in Oleśnica. He continued to hone his piano skills at the Ryszard Bukowski Music School in Wrocław, where he also started singing lessons under the guidance of Bogdan Makal.

In 2009, Andrzej enrolled in the School of Ballet and Dance at the Wrocław Opera, where he studied for two years. He then returned to the Ryszard Bukowski Music School to complete his singing studies under the tutelage of Bogdan Makal, graduating in 2017.

Andrzej's passion for opera led him to attend the Academy of Opera at the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera in Warsaw, where he has been studying under the guidance of Eytan Pessen since June 2014. During the 2016/2017 season, he was a member of the International Opera Studio at the Zurich Opera House.

In May 2016, Andrzej won the first prize and the award for the best Polish voice at the Stanisław Moniuszko International Vocal Competition in Warsaw. He has been represented by Gianluca Macheda and "GM Art and Music" Agency since the 2015/2016 season.

Andrzej has had the opportunity to attend vocal workshops led by renowned professionals such as Matthias Rexroth, Rudolf Piernay, Ryland Davis, Neil Shicoff, Izabela Kłosińska, and Teresa Żylis-Gara. He has received scholarships from the Minister of Culture and Art and the Hans und Eugenia Jutting-Stiftung Stipendium, recognizing his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft.
