Biography of Adam Klavan:
Born and raised on Long Island, Adam Klavan was the eldest of four sons to the late Gene Klavan, a renowned New York radio deejay, news columnist, and host on American Movie Classics cable network. His childhood was shaped by his father's illustrious career, which likely instilled in him a passion for storytelling and a strong work ethic.
Adam's educational journey took him to the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned a degree. However, he didn't let academic pursuits get in the way of his growing interest in journalism. He dropped out of school for a while to gain hands-on experience in local radio news. This decision proved to be a pivotal moment in his life, as it allowed him to develop his writing skills and build a network of contacts in the industry.
It was during his time at UC Berkeley that Adam met his future wife, Ellen. The couple tied the knot and went on to have two beautiful children, Faith and Spencer. As Adam continued to hone his writing craft, he worked as a reporter for a small Putnam County, NY newspaper, as well as a reader for Columbia Pictures and a news-writer for both WOR Radio and ABC Radio Network.
Adam's family's life took an international turn when they relocated to London for a period of seven years. This unique experience undoubtedly broadened his perspectives and influenced his writing. Eventually, they settled in Santa Barbara, California, where Adam continued to write and pursue his literary endeavors.
Adam's family is filled with creative talent, with his brother Ross Klavan being a writer in his own right. The two brothers collaborated on the novel Tigerland, which was published in the year 2000. Throughout his life, Adam has been driven by his passion for storytelling, and his diverse experiences have equipped him with the skills and inspiration to craft compelling narratives.
