Andrew Erwin is a director and producer who has made a name for himself in the film industry, particularly in the realm of faith-based cinema. Alongside his brother Jon, the Erwin Brothers have been a dynamic duo, working together to create a range of projects that have garnered widespread acclaim.
Their careers began in the music video realm, where they directed award-winning clips for notable artists such as Skillet, Switchfoot, Michael W. Smith, and Amy Grant. This experience laid the groundwork for their eventual transition into feature films, starting with the micro-budget debut October Baby in 2011.
The Erwin Brothers' focus shifted to developing feature films exclusively in 2010, and they quickly gained traction with their relatable and broadly appealing stories. Their comedy Moms' Night Out (2014) and sports drama Woodlawn (2015) were both critical and commercial successes, marking a turning point in their careers.
Their first true story, Woodlawn, was a deeply personal tale that resonated with audiences and earned the brothers their first A+ CinemaScore. This milestone led to their breakout hit, I Can Only Imagine (2018),a film that grossed over 86 million dollars at the box office and cemented the Erwin Brothers' status as leading voices in faith-based cinema.
The success of I Can Only Imagine inspired the creation of Kingdom Story Company, a production company co-founded with partners Kevin Downes and Tony Young. This venture is dedicated to telling stories of faith, hope, and redemption for the under-served Heartland audience.
Kingdom Story Company has since produced a range of films, including I Still Believe (2020),THE Jesus Music (2022),American Underdog (2022),Jesus Revolution (2023),and upcoming releases in 2024, such as Ordinary Angels, starring Hilary Swank, Unsung Hero, from For King + Country, Unbreakable Boy, starring Zachary Levi, and Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
Andrew Erwin is also developing a film adaptation of the New York Best-Selling book Fearless, based on the life of fallen hero Navy SEAL Adam Brown.
