Born to the late Anandi and Sadanand Nagarkatte, a celebrated thespian originates from the picturesque coastal region of Karnataka, where he underwent his early academic sojourn under the auspices of AnandAshram in South Canara and Chitrapur math in North Canara. Subsequently, he was dispatched to the vibrant city of Bombay, where he pursued further education and simultaneously became entwined with amateur theatrical pursuits for an extensive period of eight years. In 1988, he was appointed as a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council, a position he held for six years until 1994. This marked the beginning of his illustrious career in state politics, which would eventually culminate in his election as a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1994.
During his tenure in the Assembly, he served from 1994 to 1999, earning a reputation as a dedicated and hardworking public representative. Currently, I am engaged in a limited number of assignments, a few of which have garnered significant attention. Notably, I was involved in the production of a feature film in Hindi, titled "Yuva", which was directed by the renowned Mani Ratnam. Additionally, I am also currently working on another feature film, "Man Eater of Malgudi", which is an adaptation of the classic novel by the late Shri R. K. Narayan. The direction of this film is being handled by the talented Ms Kavitha Lankesh.
